Kv Grönskär och Kv Söderarm: Project support and vibration monitoring, Stockholm
Two new residential blocks next to Kärrtorp metro station, with blasting, excavation, compaction and sheet piling in a dense urban area. Westberg provided project support, pre- and post-inspections of buildings and the metro platform, vibration monitoring near the tracks, requirements for medical equipment and damage investigations.

The challenge
Two new residential blocks were built by Kärrtorp underground station. The work involved vibration-generating blasting, excavation, compaction and sheet piling in a densely built-up area, with blasting within 10 metres of the underground track.
What we did
Westberg provided project support and carried out pre- and post-work inspections of nearby buildings, vibration measurements and damage investigations. Westberg also coordinated information to SL and carried out pre- and post-work inspections and vibration measurements on its underground platform. Westberg developed acceleration requirements for vibration-sensitive medical equipment and addressed the effects of vibrations on electronic equipment.
